This hindi Poem – आधी-सी, कुछ पूरी-सी translates in english as few halves and some wholes. It is a self-call to challenge myself to express what is right and call out others to express themselves amidst the fleeting time and mercurial surrounding.

आधी-सी, कुछ पूरी-सी

अंगीठी है तैयार,

है सुर्ख-सी, लाल-सी, सूर्य-सी

सेक लो अपनी-अपनी रोटियाँ,

थोड़ी खुद के लिए, बाकी सब के लिए,

गोल-सी, कुछ त्रिकोण-सी, अस्त-सी,

कि अतृप्त जो भूख है, न ख़ाक हो जाए,

कि बिखरी जो कतार है, न और बढ़ जाए।

कुल्हाड़ी है तैयार,

है तेज-सी, घिसी-सी, गर्म-सी, थोड़ी नर्म-सी,

ढूंढ लाओ अपनी-अपनी टहनियाँ,

सख्त-सी, थोड़ी शुष्क-सी, ध्वस्त-सी,

कि अदृश्य जो दरार है,  न खुल जाए,

कि शक्त जो हाथ हैं, न थम जाएँ।

कलम है तैयार,

है तंज-सी, सत्य-सी, शिव-सी,

ले आओ अपनी-अपनी कहानियाँ,

थोड़ी किसी की और सारी तुम्हारी, 

आधी-सी, कुछ पूरी-सी

बाकी अनसुनी-सी,

कि बेवक्त जो शोर है, ना फिर बढ़ जाए,

कि अव्यक्त जो शब्द है, न कोई और गढ़ जाए।

Let’s continue to challenge the status quo and keep inventing ourselves as this is the way to find the purpose of life. Break the shackles and take the things head-on as this is the way to liberate the soul within. Power is within you and important is to run from the safety and embrace the unknown as that’s the way to make life’s journey more impactful and meanigful.
