1. Mont Blanc, France

Arguably Europe’s most famous mountain, Mont Blanc is the third highest on the continent and just the name gives adrenaline rush. It also has the highest fatality rate, largely due to over-eager guides and casual tourists. So make sure you’ve got the basic proficiency with crampons and ice axes needed, a good level of fitness and spend time acclimatizing before attempting the climb. Then bragging rights will be yours.

2. Himachal Pradesh, India

Himachal Pradesh is like no place you’ve ever seen before – in fact, you probably haven’t even heard of it. Located high in the north of India, right near Kashmir, it literally means “Abode of Himalaya” as in each direction you will see Himalayan Ranges which are home to soaring snow-capped peaks and deep valleys. Every mile you travel or every step that you trek for here enriches you with unforgettable experiences.

The Secret Traveller names Himachal as one of the best places to travel to that no one knows, saying that even driving along the windy roads is an experience here. There’s also white-water rafting, rock-climbing, trekking, off-roading and skiing available for adventure lovers. You can find Everything Candid’s previous posts exploring Himachal in-depth here.

3. Classic Trail to Milford Sound, New Zealand

Milford Sound – located in an out-of-the-way corner of New Zealand’s South Island – is a fjord within Fiordland National Park. The place receives around half a million visitors each year, Rudyard Kipling called it the eighth wonder of the world and The Telegraph says it is a trip of a lifetime. But not everyone decides to trek there.

The Milford Track is a 33-mile trek which takes in mountains, waterfalls, lakes and glacial valleys. To take on this adventure, you should book in advance as only 90 walkers a day are allowed to start the trail.

Most of the photos you see will center on the majestic 5,560ft-high Mitre Peak, and whilst you can try to capture the majesty of the surroundings, a photo doesn’t do it justice. You’ve got to go there to experience it.

4. Lake Tanganyika, In The Hinterland of Tanzania

Everyone goes on safari nowadays in Africa as it offers great wildlife opportunity to animal lover and nature believer.  I, however, suggest you to take a step further by visiting Greystoke Mahale on the shores of Lake Tanganyika which is, undoubtedly, one of the most remote safari lodges in Africa and its difficult accessibility makes it a must go place for real adventure seeker.  From here, you can trek into the Mahale Mountains and see the world’s largest remaining group of wild chimpanzees. During this Chimpanzee Trekking, you can also see huge buffalo herds, lions and elephants.
